About No. 31 Burford
More Than a Shop
No. 31 is a collective of 12 independent Cotswold brands in Burford, Oxfordshire.
Set within a characterful 13th-century building on Burford’s famous High Street, we’ve created a welcoming space where independent businesses, makers and creatives come together under one roof. From contemporary jewellery, luxury knitwear, organic skincare and original artwork to stationery, handbags, candles, childrenswear, activewear and homeware, each brand has been chosen for its quality, design and story.
Sustainability is a core part of what we do as a collective. Our brands are committed to more thoughtful ways of designing, sourcing and producing their products, and we actively support and champion this approach across No. 31.
We’re proud to champion independent businesses and to offer a space where visitors can discover products they won’t find on a typical high street. At its heart, No. 31 is about collaboration, creativity and a shared belief in beautifully made, thoughtfully considered goods.
Families and dogs are always welcome – it’s a relaxed, informal space designed for everyone to enjoy.
Nestled at the back of the shop, Nutmeg & Thyme serves freshly prepared gluten-free, plant-based food, homemade bakes and excellent coffee. Everything is made in a dedicated gluten-free kitchen, making it a trusted stop for coeliacs and anyone looking for delicious gluten-free or vegan food in the Cotswolds.
More than just a shop, No. 31 is a place to slow down, explore and discover something a little different in Burford.
How It All Began
No. 31 was born from a shared belief that independent businesses are stronger together. Like many small brands, we loved meeting customers face-to-face but found opportunities to showcase our products in a permanent retail space were limited. Rather than waiting for the perfect shop to appear, a group of local founders decided to create one together.
What started as an ambitious collaboration has grown into a thriving collective of independent Cotswold businesses, each bringing their own expertise, creativity and personality to the space. Today, No. 31 has become a destination for visitors exploring Burford and the wider Cotswolds – a place where people can discover local makers, meet the people behind the brands and shop products with purpose and provenance at their heart.
At its core, No. 31 is about collaboration, community and celebrating the incredible creativity that exists right here in the Cotswolds.
